Robert Cheek was born on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, in a small town named Federalsburg. He attended Federalsburg Elementary (grades K-3), Seaford Christian Academy (grades 4-8), and North Caroline High School (grades 9-12) where he graduated No. 6 in his class and was an active participant in National Honor Society, Mock Trial, and the Drama Department.

Robert graduated summa cum laude from Hofstra University in May 2006 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Political Science. There, he was active in the Political Science Department and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After returning to Hofstra University to begin his studies in law, he later graduated cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in May 2011 with a juris doctorate.

Robert has had several of his educational papers published including "The Sleeping Dragon," a commentary on the rise of Chinese hegemony in the 21st century and "The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001: Past, present, future, and legacy." He was chosen as one of two students to present papers at the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Forum in 2006, hosted by Hofstra University. He made a presentation on President Clinton's foreign policy with a focus on military intervention.

Robert has had a passion for politics since childhood and began seriously studying, reading, and writing about the topic at the age of 13. He has worked on Capitol Hill, in Washington, D.C. and for both the Governor and Legislature of Maryland. In May of 2006, he ran for the Maryland House of Delegates from District 37B. In 2010, he managed another candidate's campaign for the Maryland State Senate from District 37.

Robert is the author of five books, and the creator of "The Movement Universe" - a shared literary universe centered on a (now) alternate history of a dystopian America in the mid-twenty-teens and based on characters that appear in multiple works. After practicing law on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, focusing on domestic relations and criminal defense; he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of screenwriting. He currently has over a dozen completed screenplays and is actively seeking both representation and production for his projects.

Robert is currently employed as the General Manager of Create Music Group, a music distribution, publishing and rights company; and is a Founding Member of Free State Media, LLC and their O the Anthem, A Dead Drop, Founding the Future and Variant Entertainment brands.  You can hear him weekly on the O The Anthem Podcast, available at

Robert enjoys writing, film and TV, Orioles baseball, Ravens football, and travel. He is a resident of Los Angeles, California.
